Bird Watching

Loagan Bunut (Day Trip)

Itinerary : 8:00am - Pick up from Visitor Information Centre/hotel. The drive will pass lush forests, longhouses, rice fields, pepper plantations, gardens and swidden farms.

11:00am - Arrive at the Loagan Bunut National Park. Briefing (Safety/Ecology and Cultural aspects).

11:30am - Transfer to Loagan Lodge via a short boat ride or a walk on mud flats during the dry season.

12:30pm - Lunch. There is optional jungle trekking and/or kayaking available as well.

4:00-5:30 pm - Evening Cruise: Take a lake and river cruise to observe birds and other wildlife, flora, some cultural sites or just enjoy the environment. Observe the unique selambau fishing techniques (when in season).

5:45pm - Depart from Loagan Bunut National Park.

8:00pm- Arrive in Miri.

* Note : The water level at Loagan Bunut Lake fluctuates according to the dry and wet seasons. During the dry season, normally in July and August, the lake is completely dry. Lake cruises are not available during the dry season.

Recommended items to bring : Insect repellent, sunhat, binoculars and your bird book if any, torch light, raincoat/umbrella in case of rain, slippers, personal toiletries, water bottle and personal items.

Package includes : 1 packed lunch, 1 dinner, light refreshments during the morning cruise, 1 guided lake and river cruise, lake transfers.
