Mt. Kinabalu
In Kinabalu Park rises Mount
Kinabalu to 4,093 m. It is the highest mountain in Southeast Asia. The
diversity of plant life is striking, ranging from tropical rainforest
to montane forest, cloud forest and the sub-alpine. There are over
1,200 species of wild orchids, 40 varieties of oaks, 27 species
rhododendrons, 450 species ferns, 9 species Nepenthes and Rafflesia.
Those not wishing to climb Mount
Kinabalu will find plenty to do exploring the garden walks and jungle
trails. Poring Hot Springs which feature Japanese-style baths is great
for tired feet and aching muscles.

After breakfast, pick up from Hotel at 0730hrs,
proceed for a 3 hours drive to Poring Hotspring. Upon arrival at
Poring, proceed to canopy walk through nature trails of the lowland
forest. Observe wildlife and the tropical rainforest from the canopy .
After lunch, depart from Poring for Kinabalu Park which takes about an
hour drive. Guided walk to the Mountain Garden to see rare collection
of mountain plants and flowers. Return to Kota Kinabalu and transfer
back to your Hotel. Overnight at hotel. |
